Personal account of hypnosis
For many people who have never been hypnotized (including myself), it can be hard to imagine what the state of hypnosis is actually like, and what happens to the subject during the experience.
This personal account by Scott Adams (creator of the cartoon Dilbert) offers a great first-hand account of what happens during hypnosis and what is experienced.
I highly recommend reading this if you hare having a hard time wrapping your head around this particular state of consciousness.
